Dymaxion Car… Really cool. Sits 11 people, and gets 30 mpg… Look at it compared to it’s car counterparts back in the day. Really impressive.

A Big Season Coming Up for Michael Lewis!
GOOD LUCK MICHAEL!!Laguna Beach, California — (March 14, 2011) American Michael Lewis’s
2011 race season is well underway as he is already hard at work with an aggressive preseason test program with the PREMA Powerteam. In preparation for the upcoming Formula 3 Italia season, Michael and the team just completed three days of testing at two tracks. Michael and his two PREMA Powerteam teammates, Andrea Roda and Raffaele Marciello, tested Tuesday and Wednesday, March 8 and 9, at the famous Imola circuit. Even though temperatures at the track were extremely cold the conditions remained dry, which offered Michael the opportunity to run considerable kilometers and build up speed.
Michael Lewis now has two years of single seat race car experience having competed in the Formula BMW Americas, where he earned the coveted Formula BMW Americas Rookie Championship in 2009, and Formula BMW Europe series in 2010.

Michael Lewis and the PREMA Powerteam recently participated in two preseason tests. Michael is seen here at speed in the Formula 3 Italia car at the famous Imola track.

Michael Lewis and GP2 driver and advisor Giacomo Ricci discuss Michael’s recent preseason test in the Formula 3 Italia car of the PREMA Powerteam while team engineer Fabio Zillio examines the data.

Well… It is a hit new year and we are going to kick things off with a really cool trip up to Laguna Seca in a couple of weeks.
To commemorate the up coming event, I found these really cool old photos from 1979 Laguna Seca Raceway IMSA race HERE… He has a lot of great photos, so check them out…
The bottom picture shows Jim’s poor BMW looking quite damaged… I asked him and this is what he said;
I was coming down the hill going 150 miles per hour, when all of a sudden my right hand, holding the shifter was sucked into the car, luckily I let go…
I looked back behind me to see my entire engine (minus the cylinder head), crank shaft, and transmission still connected rolling in a wake of oil and fuel… A rod had blown out so hard that things went shockingly wrong…
Danny Ongais, Peter Gregg and others trailing him luckily and surprsingly dodged the rogue engine and transmission and no one got hurt…
That picture is of Jim getting towed back to the pits. Wow.
The two Radical SR8’s will be coming to Laguna, can’t wait to see them in action!

My paintings are in a really cool new gallery in downtown San Diego… It is curated by Coronado local Chris Clements… It’s called the Machine Shop.
Pretty stoked to be a part of this place, as it is very well done in every way. The Machine Shop’s neighbor is Dustin who runs and operates Pure Concrete Studio. Incredibly talented guy, making some bitchin stuff out of concrete.
The guys from Orange and Park showed up in full force as well, spreading their visual delights. They are who I got the photos from, actually…
It is appointment only, unless you make an event night. So give Chris a call 619 203 8538… It is a really unique space, and quite a fun adventure downtown San Diego to see it.
